Description:
This painting was executed by German seascape painter Karl Theodor Boheme. The work shows the setting sun meeting the ocean at the horizon line, as waves run over the rocks in the foreground. The horizon line is tilted, suggesting that the viewer is in a boat. The proximity of the rocks to the viewer therefore increases the sublimity of the work. As of January 2015, it was located in the University of Cincinnati's College of Education, Criminal Justice, and Human Services, room 400.
