Description:
|
One of Over-the-Rhine's most significant roadways, the land served as Cincinnati's northernmost boundary from 1802 to 1849. It was known as the "Northern Liberties," in part due to its reputation for vice and lawlessness. One section of the street is dominated by Liberty Hill, a particularly steep land formation which was long problematic for transportation development in the area.
