Description:

"The imposing medieval French Gothic style structure is 190 feet long and has a 128-foot high façade modeled after Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris. Flying buttresses and high pinnacles dominate the rear and the sides of the building, and gargoyles look out from the towers. The cathedral has eighty-two stained glass windows, including one measuring 24' x 67', reportedly among the largest in the United States." "Artist and craftsmen from Europe and the United States worked on the cathedral. Mayer & Company of Munich, Germany, made the stained glass windows on the lower and clerestory levels. Ellrich Studios of Venice constructed the fourteen mosaic Stations of the Cross. Artist Frank Duvenecks, Covingtonian who enjoyed national reputation, contributed four murals for the chapel and a triptych on the east wall. Clement J. Barnhorn, a renowned Cincinnati sculptor, made the statue of Madonna and the carving of the Assumption of Mary above the front door of the cathedral."
