Plate unnumbered. Entry from Catlin's 1848 catalog reads, "Braves' Dance, Boasting, &c., Sioux." Originally sketched in 1835 and painted in the period 1835-1837 (Truettner, 1979, p. 270). This images does not appear in Manners, Customs and Condition of the North American Indians, although the dance is described in Vol. II, pp. 135-136.
