Description:
|
Described in Vol. I, p. 26. Caption from Truettner catalog of Catlin's Indian Gallery. Entry from Catlin's 1848 catalog reads, "Batiste and I, running Buffalo; Mouth of Yellow Stone; a frog's leap." Originally sketched in 1832 and probably painted in the period 1832-1833 (Truettner, 1979, p. 263). The frog leap is being made by F.A. Chardon.
