Description:
Described in Vol. II, p. 146. Caption from Truettner catalog of Catlin's Indian Gallery. Entry from Catlin's 1848 catalog reads, "Wah-chee-hahs-ka, the Man who puts all out of Doors, called the 'Boxer;' the largest man of the Winnebagoes; war-club in his hand, and rattle-snake skins on his arms." Probably painted originally at Prairie du Chien in 1835 (Truettner, 1979, p. 200). It is not clear if the figure is wearing boot moccasins or high gaiters with low moccasins.
