ART WORKS Charles Balthasar Julien Fevret de Saint Memin (1770-1852) executed two portraits of a Delaware, possibly Montgomery Montour, in Washington (D.C.) in 1807. Both portraits are black and white chalk on paper. One (Miles: 246) is in the American Philosophical Society, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The second (Miles: 247) is in the New-York Historical Society, New York, New York (Miles, 1994, pp. 146-147, 297). Saint Memin also executed two portraits of Big White (Sha-ha-ka) in Washington (D.C.) in 1807. One is black and white chalk on paper (Miles: 745) and is in the New-York Historical Society. The second (Miles: 746) is watercolor on paper and is in the Thomas Gilcrease Institute of American History & Art, Tulsa, Oklahoma (Miles, 1994, pp. 144-148, 156, 389)
