ART WORKS Horan (Horan, 1986, p. 124) indicates that the original of this portrait was painted by Charles Bird King (1785-1862) in Washington (D.C.) possible in 1825. There is no listing for a portrait of this individual in Cosentino. There is no listing for a portrait of this individual in the Catalogue of Indian Paintings Belonging to the Government Collection which appeared in William J. Rhees' 1859 Guide to the Smithsonian Institution, although No. 28 is an unidentified Creek warrior (Viola, 1976, p. 143). There is no listing for a portrait of this individual in the inventory of paintings by Henry Inman (1801-1846) in Peabody Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology, Harvard University.
