ART WORKS Original painted by Charles Bird King (1785-1862) in Washington (D.C.) (Cosentino: 336). Horan (Horan, 1986, p. 164) indicates that the date is uncertain. Cosentino indicates that Hodge dated the painting 1825 and attributed it to King (Cosentino, 1977, p. 171). The location of this painting is unknown. A copy of the King painting by Henry Inman (1801-1846), formerly in the Peabody Museum of Archeology and Ethnology, Harvard University (Peabody No. 82-51-10\28189), is in the D. Harold Byrd, Jr. Collection (Viola, 1983, Plate 15).
