Project Description:
|
Skelly boards are often drawn on the street next to the hydrant, the only curb space regularly free of cars. The caps, especially when weighted with tar, cork, pennies, melted crayons, orange peels, wax, or almost anything, skim nicely along concrete surfaces with the sideways flick of the finger--a well-weighted cap can be effective in knocking an opponent's caps off the board. Because the fingers flick sideways rather than up and down, players do not scrape their knuckles as they do trying to play marbles on asphalt and concrete; although marbles persisted, skelly prevailed.
