Project Description:
|
In May 2009 a group of 5th grade students at Mesa Elementary in Boulder, Colorado took on a project to re-design their playground with accessibility for all users in mind. Design and Planning Doctoral Student Shawn Edmonds spent the semester teaching students about universal design with activities such as using wheelchairs and cruches to get around the school and playground and learning about the challenges that persons with disabilities face. https://www.cudenver.edu/Academics/Colleges/ArchitecturePlanning/discover/centers/CYE/Projects/Pages/LevelingthePlayingField.aspx
