"This document is dedicated to the staff of the 25th General Hospital and is sent with a photo album that records our overseas hospital work. It is made up of notes from my diary, memories that remain vivid unrecorded until now, and some recollections written by others. I hope both the document, called MEMOIRS, and the photo album will be included in the Medical Heritage Center of the University of Cincinnati, and that this record of our American Red Cross work, not recorded in the hospital notes, will amplify the history written by Col. Nimitz and others. [signed] Barbara L. Ashbaugh, January 1995"
