Description:
Description typed on index card in album: " 'Beached Bessie' a French ambulance given to me by a friend in the Air Force stationed nearby--Col. Russell took it away and used it to carry mess to the patients in tents. It had a dow-bell which announced meals; and initially it had blood stains in the inside; but the scantily dressed girls painted on the outside were a constant attraction! I had to get tires from a tank and vehicle graveyard."
