Description:
|
Samuel Hannaford designed Cincinnati's Music Hall. Wings on either side of the central facade stretch the building's length to 372 feet. The auditorium seats 3632. In 1969 and 1973, J. Ralph Corbett and Patricia Corbett funded the restoration of the interior, which included a hydraulic orchestra platform, air conditioning, and escalators. The interior is Baroque with ivory and gilt woodwork. The largest hall in the United States regularly used for classical music concerts, it is currently home to the Cincinnati Symphony, the Cincinnati Pops, the annual May Festival, and the Summer Opera.
