Description:
|
"Occupying three city blocks in its heyday, it is still largely intact. Moerlein, with Adam Dillmann as his partner, then Conrad Windisch, started a brewery in 1853; by the 1880s, he had the city's largest, and the only one with national reputation." "At 1910 Elm stands the former Moerlein barrel factory (1862). Its architectural style derives from the Rundbogenstil, or "round-arched style," approximately a style of Germanic origin that first appeared in the country in 1846 brought over by German immigré architects." The building is now the headquarters for the K-D Lamp Co.
