This nineteenth century designed square features chiaroscurist elements contrasting sun and shade. Numerous neoclassical facades surround the square, which contains lampposts designed by Antoni Gaudi. The square was originally designed by Francesco Daniel Molina, and was redesigned in 1981 by 1981 by Federico Correa and Alfons Mila, who transformed it to be more pedestrian friendly.
