Described in Vol. II, pp. 146-147. Caption from Truettner catalog of Catlin's Indian Gallery. Entry from Catlin's 1848 catalog reads, "Kaw-kaw-ne-choo-a, __________; a brave." Probably painted originally in Washington D.C. in 1828 (Truettner, 1979, p. 201). The figure is wearing some type of leg covering.
