Described in Vol. II, p. 100. Caption from Truettner catalog of Catlin's Indian Gallery. Entry from Catlin's 1848 catalog reads, "Kee-mon-saw, the Little Chief; Chief; Semi-civilized." Probably painted at Fort Leavenworth in 1830 (Truettner, 1979, p. 210). The figure holds an object which may be a tobacco-pipe or a flute.
